" Son agrupaciones músico coral que canta principalmente por las calles ofreciendo coplas humorísticas."
I wonder if it should be "agrupaciones músicos corales que cantan..."?
"A estos días le preceden otros en los que tiene lugar la presentación de las candidatas a Reina. También los diversos concursos de murgas infantiles y adultas, que tienen su origen en las chirigotas gaditanas. Se realiza al final el Entierro de la Sardina. Consiste en un desfile que parodia un cortejo fúnebre y culmina con la quema de una figura, normalmente representando a una sardina. Se celebra tradicionalmente el miércoles de Ceniza."
Based on these sentences, I assume that the presentation of candidates happens before The Carnival but the contests happen at the end of The Carnival. Am I correct? In addition, I think the third sentence should start with "Se realizan..."
"Una en la que se elige la Reina y otra en la que se elige al Drag Queen del Carnaval."
Why is there an "a" before "el Drag Queen" but none before "la Reina"?
From what I learnt in the "la Navidad" topic, subjunctives are used for facts if they are based on wish and hope. But in the "La Merce" topic and this one, subjunctives were not used in "cuenta la leyenda que..." Why is that? Is not legend also based on wish and hope?
"Decidieron subirlo colgado del cuello y el animal vació en este momento la vejiga sobre el público."
I wonder if it should be "subirlo colgando..."?

Hide¿Se celebran los carnavales en tu país? ¿Qué peculiaridades tienen?
Are the carnivals celebrated in your country? What are some of their peculiar aspects?
Hola Fang,
The type of musical group "músico coral" it's in singular because it's a type of musical group. This is why you can talk about it in singular, but because it sounds weird you can also use it in plural, like the sample you wrote.
“Son agrupaciones {músicos corales} que cantan…”
“Son agrupaciones {músico coral} que cantan…”
In both cases the correct use of the verb is "cantan", in the audio they use "cantan" too. It's the transcript that needs to be corrected.
Gracias por tu comprensión.

Hola Carla,
(It’s rarely use, but yes it can happen.)
So what are the rules for the exceptions? Or can you point me to some resources that explain the rules? Thank you very much.

Hola Carla,
(Yes, you can say it like that. “músicos corales que cantan”)
So you mean sometimes it is ok even if the adjectives and verbs do not match the noun like "Son agrupaciones músico coral que canta..."?
Hola Fang,
Sorry it can get confusing.
Yes, you can say it like that. "músicos corales que cantan"
No, if you want to use "se realizan" then the sentence need to change to "Se realizan al final el Entierro de las Sardinas."

Hola Carla,
(No, you “son” is need to understand and complete the sentence.)
I was not talking about "son", but rather the adjectives and verb: “...músicos corales que cantan…"
(It’s correct the way it is..”se realiza”)
If it refers to the contests, "concursos", then it should be "se realizan..." Otherwise, what does it refer to?
Hola Fang,
Sorry about that.
No, you "son" is need to understand and complete the sentence.
Yes, you understand correctly. It's correct the way it is.."se realiza"
There should be an "a" before "la reina", let me inform the typo so they can correct it.
"colgado del cuello" it's correct.

Hola Carla,
Ok, so are there anybody else who can answer the other 4 questions?
Hola Fang,
In general, the subjunctive mood is subjective and possible (but not certain). It is used to talk about doubts, wishes, the abstract, emotions, and other unknown and non-factual situations. It is commonly used in making recommendations, giving commands, and talking about how things make you feel. It is also used to express opinions about another action.
It can be tricky, it's more how one is talking about something. In the legend sentence they are talking of a fact.
