need cultural insight

Postby crayoncore » November 8th, 2009 8:50 pm

Hola todos.
So here's my problem. I'm going to visit my boyfriend in Mexico in December. While I'm there I'll be staying at his house with him, and his mother. I know that in America it's "proper" and good mannered to bring a gift to the hostess/host. I'm wondering if this is also a cultural tradition in Mexico and if so what is appropriate to bring as a gift?
Any insight would be awesome.
Thanks

Hi!. I am from Guadalajara, and I recommend you to give a present. I always do when I am staying at another home. Usually, a liquor from your home town or some sweets will be excellent. :D
