Eric: Someday you'll be mocked, another day you'll do it yourself, so you should learn the expressions that describe different mocking situations. |

Eric: Anna, what's our first expression? |
Anna: tomar el pelo |
Eric: literally meaning "take the hair." But when it's used as a slang expression it means "to trick, to fool." |
Anna: [SLOW] tomar el pelo [NORMAL] tomar el pelo |
Eric: Listeners, please repeat. |

Eric: Use this slang expression when somebody fools somebody else, usually with little lies. |
Eric : Now let's hear an example sentence. |

Anna: vacilar |
Eric: literally meaning "doubt, hesitate." But when used as a slang expression it means "scoff, to joke, to fool." |

Eric: Use this slang expression when referring to the action of making a joke to someone, particularly a friend. But it's also used when talking about someone who wants to trick or tease you, without respect, in a mocking way. |
Eric : Now let's hear an example sentence. |
Anna: [NORMAL] ¿Me estás vacilando? [SLOW] ¿Me estás vacilando? |
Eric: "Are you mocking me?" |
Anna: [NORMAL] ¿Me estás vacilando? |
Eric: Okay, what's our next expression? |
Anna: ser un chulo |
Eric: literally meaning "being a pimp." But when it's used as a slang expression it means "cocky." |
Anna: [SLOW] ser un chulo [NORMAL] ser un chulo |

Eric: Use this slang expression when you want to talk about someone who is really cocky and doesn't care much about his actions. Be careful when you use this word, as chulo also means "pimp." |

Eric: "He is so cocky all the time, and he is afraid of cats." |

Eric: literally meaning "to have nose." But when it's used as a slang expression it means "shameless, brazen, cheeky." |

Eric: Use this slang expression when you want to describe a person who is shameless or cheeky and takes advantage of situations, and gets things their way. |

Eric: "You're shameless. These things are not said." |
