Hi, everyone! This is Rosa. Today, we’ll be doing the top 10 tourist attractions in Spain. So let’s start!
1. acueducto de Segovia “Aqueduct of Segovia”
“The Aqueduct of Segovia is a Roman aqueduct.”
I haven’t been to the aqueduct of Segovia, but I think it has to be like pretty impressive because it’s very tall, I don’t know, huge like or not so.
2. bahía de La Concha “Bay of La Concha”
“Santa Clara Island is located in the Bay of La Concha.”
Also, I haven’t been to this place, but I’ve seen pictures and it’s so beautiful like the sea and the coast and this island is so pretty. It’s in the north of Spain and I haven’t visited that much, that part of Spain, but yeah, really beautiful.
“Burgos Cathedral was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984.”
I’m not that into churches or cathedrals, but, yeah, the one in Burgos is quite impressive, maybe one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Spain.
4. Alhambra “Alhambra”
“If you go to Granada, you must visit the Alhambra.”
Just make sure to get your tickets in advance because they get sold out pretty quickly and if not, you have to like go there very early in the morning to get your tickets. So yeah, but, yeah, really you have to go. It’s very, very beautiful.
“In the Picos de Europa, there's a national park.”
I haven’t been to this place either. It’s in the north of Spain, but also I’ve seen some pictures and beautiful, beautiful. If you like trekking, if you like nature like...I really want to go.
6. mezquita de Córdoba “Great Mosque of Cordoba”
“The Great Mosque of Cordoba is an emblematic Arab monument.”
Though now, it’s a cathedral, it’s the cathedral of Cordoba so it was, yeah, a mosque and now it turned into a cathedral. I don’t know if you’ve seen some pictures of it, but the arcs that there is inside, I don’t know, it’s really beautiful, yeah.
“In the Prado Museum, there are the most famous works of Goya.”
Yeah, the Prado Museum is a pretty big museum so you need to make some time for it. I have to check it out. I’m not completely sure, but I think on Sundays, the entrance is free so, yeah...if you’re going, check it out, but it will be like particularly crowded on that day but, well...free.
8. Plaza del Obradoiro “Plaza del Obradoiro”
La Plaza del Obradoiro está en Santiago de Compostela. “Plaza del Obradoiro is in Santiago de Compostela.”
So last year, I did the Camino de Santiago. The Camino de Santiago is like a pilgrimage that have existed for, I don’t know, how many centuries, but people use to go from France and from all other places to Santiago de Compostela. Like at least, you have to walk 100 kilometers to get the certificate that you’ve done the Camino de Santiago, like the last stop is the Plaza del Obradoiro. I don’t know, like after having walk for that many days like get there and see all the other people that have arrived and talk to them and like super happy and super proud of themselves. I don’t know, it’s such a great feeling.
9. Sagrada Familia “Sagrada Familia”
“Sagrada Familia was begun in 1882 and it’s still under construction.”
But yeah, I think they will be finishing it by like 2024, I think. I’m not completely sure, but I think so, yeah, soon.
10. Toledo “Toledo”
“In Toledo, there are monuments of Muslim, Jewish, and Christian culture.”
It’s a very beautiful city and you can get there from Madrid in an hour or so I could say. The old park is very nice. You can go walk in there. You can maybe like do a day trip from Madrid. It’s really worth it I think.
