Becky: Asking directions. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask and understand basic directions in Spanish.

Becky: Here’s the way to ask “Where is the station?” in Spanish.
Laura: [Normal] ¿En dónde está la estación?
Becky: First is a word meaning “in”
Laura: [Normal] en [Slow] en
Becky: Next is the word meaning “where”
Laura: [Normal] dónde [Slow] dónde
Becky: Next is the word meaning “is”
Laura: [Normal] está [Slow] está
Becky: Next is the word meaning “the”
Laura: [Normal] la [Slow] la
Becky: Last is the word meaning “station”
Laura: [Normal] estación [Slow] estación
Becky: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the question meaning “Where is the station?”

Becky: Here’s a response meaning “Go straight.”
