Object Pronouns

Postby jim7875 » November 13th, 2013 4:20 pm

Your direct object pronoun list in lesson 31 disagrees with other authorities I have seen. For example, http://spanish.about.com/cs/grammar/a/o ... onouns.htm lists the third person, singular pronoun as lo or la. Your lesson specifies le. Which is correct?

Regards,

Jim

Hi Jim,

In our Lessons we have the following explanation:

-The direct object pronouns (third person, singular) are: lo (masculine) and la (feminine).
-The indirect object pronoun (third person singular) is: le
The indirect object pronoun "le", refers to him, for him; to her, for her; to it, for it; or to you, for you (in a formal Spanish form).

The reference you mentioned gives you the same information: "The third-person singular direct object pronouns are lo (masculine) and la (feminine)..." "...the indirect object pronouns are le and les in the singular and the plural, respectively. No distinction is made according to gender"

I hope this explanation made the point clear for you, but if you have any more questions regarding this subject or any other, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind regards,
Laura
