| Peruvian people have some traditional customs for New year's like using yellow underwear, eating twelve grapes at midnight, and running around a street block with suitcases! All of these are just for good luck and fun. Peruvian people also enjoy toasting to fireworks at midnight. |

| This national holiday celebrated on August 30th commemorates the life and miracles of the first canonized saint in the Americas; Saint Rose of Lima. On this day Peruvian people visit the convent where she lived and throw money and wishes written on paper into a well on the convent patio. |
